World Ocean Network at COP24

World Ocean Network attended the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Katowice, Poland.

The World Ocean Network participated in the development of the Oceans Action Day programme and interviewed participants in Ocean Day activities. Oceans Action Day took place on December 8th 2018 as a side event of the Conference of the Parties (COP24) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Oceans Action Day was a great success. More and more people are attending ocean dedicated events during COPs, highlighting the fact that a healthy Ocean means a better mitigation of climate change.

The World Ocean Network actions at the COP24 was implemented in collaboration with the Global Ocean Forum which is developing the Roadmap to Oceans and Climate Action (ROCA) Initiative.
