Following the IPPC report of October 2018 and on the occasion of the\u00a010th<\/sup>\u00a0International Aquarium Congress\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in Fukushima, Japan, the members of the\u00a0IAN<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(International Aquarium Network)<\/strong>\u00a0signed a statement to \u201curge decision-makers to address this alarming situation\u201d while they \u201craise awareness of 700 million people every year in order to help everyone to\u00a0 understand the challenges facing the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aquarium professionals from North America, Asia and Europe present in the IAN Congress signed the statement and it is now being promoted all around the world.<\/p>\n

World Ocean Network presented this statement during Oceans Day at the COP24 in Katowice, Poland, and will continue to promote it and gain buy-in from other aquariums and marine education entities.<\/p>\n
