On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, French IUCN committee organises the Fête de la Nature (May 18-22). World Ocean Network promotes and participates in the event.

In collaboration with ECSITE and Nausicaá, World Ocean Network participates in the session ―”From Rio 1992 to Rio 2012 – the contribution of science museums to Millennium Development Goals through informal education for sustainable development”

2nd edition of Cap Rouge Day

Cap Rouge Day is an initiative of Lighthouse Foundation together with its partners: the World Ocean Observatory, Nausicaá - National Sea Centre and the World Ocean Network. This event consists in wearing and inviting to wear a red cap in honour of Captain Cousteau’s 101th anniversary, in order to show that we care about the future of our blue planet.

UNICPOLOS, 12th meeting of the United Nations Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea, New York, USA.

The Consultative Process focuses its discussions on capacity-building in ocean affairs and the law of the sea, including marine science.
